This is my 17th year of teaching kindergarten in Hilliard City Schools. I have a Master's of Education from the Ohio State University, and a Literacy Coordinator training certificate. My first four years of teaching, I was a kindergarten teacher and literacy coordinator. After that, I taught a.m. kindergarten and did 1st/2nd grade reading intervention. For the past seven years, I have taught kindergarten ADE! My passions as a teacher include allowing students to pursue their interests and passions, play, creativity, teaching children to read and write and to learn to love school. My husband and I are the proud parents of two boys, who are fortunate to attend ADE with me! My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, exercising, baking, taking our English Bulldog, Mac, for walks and playing with him, and children's literature. I love kindergarten and hope that your kids love it as much as I do!

This is my second year teaching K, but my third year at ADE! Before teaching K, I had the opportunity to student teach in Mrs. O’Dea’s third grade classroom and fell in love with Alton Darby. I graduated this past May from The Ohio State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have experience in many different grade levels including kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and preschool. I have always had a passion for working with students and encouraging creativity within their learning. Building a safe and welcoming community within my classroom is something that is very core to my teaching philosophy. Being welcomed into Hilliard’s community and having the opportunity to grow in Hilliard has been such an incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to welcome your kindergarteners into our community as well! When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, painting and crafting, and playing with my cat, Lionel. I am so excited to be a part of the kindergarten team and for another amazing year at Alton Darby!

KLIP (Kindergarten Language Intervention Program)
Another year at Alton Darby! Yippee! I have been at ADE since the building opened 18 years ago and this is my 26h year of teaching. I did my under graduate work at Muskingum College and my masters work at The Ohio State University. I have taught K, 1st and 2nd but I have found a true passion for kindergarten and all the new things they learn...especially reading! The last 10 years, I have been the KLIP teacher at ADE for 1/2 the day and love my little "klippers!" I believe in the partnership of home and school working together to help children reach their highest potential. The other half of my day is spent caring for my family and home. My husband John was born and raised in Hilliard. Our daughters Maggie and Ella just started 7th and 9th grades. We have our dogs Winston and Phineas to add to the chaos! We spend a lot of time with family and friends and I enjoy finding creative outlets like scrapbooking, taking photos and cooking. I am looking forward to a great year at ADE!
