Below are the kindergarten standards, which will be updated soon, as they are making minor changes statewide, as well as our district curricular expectations.
We believe in the educating the whole child. In additional to the goals listed below, we focus on social and emotional learning, foster students' interest and passions, allowing students time to play, be "makers" and explore, growth mindset and R-Factor.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Language Arts standards have been broken down into the following categories:
Reading - Literature, Reading - Informational Text, Reading - Foundational Skills, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Language
Literacy Standards are taught through the Literacy Collaborative Framework. This framework includes the following elements:
Read aloud - Reading and discussion of high-quality literature with students as a group.
Shared Reading - Collaboratively reading and demonstration of reading strategies through the use of an enlarged text.
Guided Reading - Small group lessons in which students read and are provided instruction on books at their individual levels.
Interactive Writing - Demonstration of writing conventions and craft through the shared composition of a message.
Writing Workshop - Individual writing time, which consists of a mini-lesson, time for student writing and teacher conferencing, and sharing of exemplar work.
Centers - Students work in small groups to complete tasks that reinforce their learning and give them time for independent practice of new skills.

Mathematics Ohio’s academic content standards in mathematics are made up of six standards:
We will focus on the numbers 0-5 in the first trimester, 0-10 in the second trimester, and 0-20 in the third trimester. Other topics such as geometry and measurement will be built upon throughout the year in a similar fashion. Below are the 12 Social Studies Content Statements on which we will be focusing this year:
*Time can be measured.
*Personal history can be shared through stories and pictures.
*Heritage is reflected through the arts, customs, family traditions and language.
*Nations are represented by symbols and practices.
*Terms related to direction and distance, as well as symbols and landmarks, can be used to talk about the relative location of familiar places.
*Models and maps represent places.
*Humans depend on and impact the environment in order to supply food, clothing and shelter.
*Individuals are unique but share common characteristics of multiple groups.
*Individuals have shared responsibilities toward the achievement of common goals in homes, schools, and communities.
*The purpose and rules of authority figures is to provide order, safety and security in homes, schools, and communities.
*People have wants and needs and make decisions to satisfy those wants. These decisions impact others.
*Goods are objects that satisfy people's wants. Services are actions that satisfy people's wants.
